About technology

Welcome to the 'About Technology' section, where we aim to share with you a deeper understanding of the fascinating technology of hard anodising. In this space, discover how innovative electrochemical processes transform ordinary metals into exceptionally durable and long-lasting products. Learn about the science and practice that drives this advanced process, bringing new life to materials. We invite you to explore more about this fascinating technology.

Hard anodising technology is an advanced process that enables the properties of a metal to be transformed through the controlled growth of hard coatings on its surface. Using electrochemical reactions, hard anodising creates layers of exceptional durability, resistance to corrosion and mechanical damage.

Electrochemical Transformation

Hard anodising is based on electrochemical phenomena that allow the controlled formation of coatings on the metal surface. The process takes place through the application of suitable chemical solutions and the passage of an electric current through the product. As a result, the metal surface becomes electrochemically active, which initiates reactions leading to the growth of anodic layers.

Surface modification

The main purpose of hard anodising is to modify the surface structure of the material to produce layers of higher hardness and strength than the original material. As a result, products subjected to this process become more resistant to abrasion, corrosion and weathering.

Precision Parameters

A key element of hard anodising technology is the control of process parameters, such as duration, current intensity and chemical solution composition. By fine-tuning these parameters, it is possible to obtain layers with well-defined properties that meet specific application requirements.

Scientific Knowledge and Practical Application

Hard anodising technology combines scientific knowledge of electrochemistry and materials science with practical application in various industries. With it, metals can be customised to meet specific needs, achieving exceptional durability and functionality.

POLYMEROXIDE ® - is a group of highly innovative, patented hard anodising processes. The developer of the processes, F.Fischer, devoted many years of work to research into the development of new technology - the aim of the research was to invent an HC process that offers maximum abrasion resistance with the lowest possible roughness of the deposited coating.

The objective was achieved, succeeding in creating a stable process that is suitable for high-volume production applications and offers unique coating parameters. A completely new HC electrolyte composition with monomers was invented and the process was optimised for a number of electrolysis conductivity parameters. The technology developer highly recommends the , developed xH4 process as the best hard anodising process on the market.

Many aluminium vibration-damping components in the suspension of supercars like the PORSCHE GT 3 , MC LAREN and BUGATII are coated with the xH4 process!

The new coverage includes properties not previously achieved anywhere:

  • completely new monomer matrix polymeroxid®
  • maximum resistance to abrasion
  • much less roughness of the coating than the competition in topography considerably uniform surface coverage
  • maximum hardness approx. 500 - 520 HV0 , 25 (7075-T6)
  • reduction of the slip-stick effect
  • very good slip properties
  • protection against cold welding
  • extremely good bonding properties of the coating with other top layers (the coating is a primer)
  • considerably improved corrosion resistance compared to classical hard anodising
  • the hybrid structure of the coating considerably increases resistance to external forces and other stresses
  • possibility to colour the coating composite with dyes

The polymeroxid® composite coating is far superior to other known market solutions from BASF or Compcote®.

So in fact polymeroxid® is the best existing composite process in the world and not just a tool for marketing!
